Who are the Smashing Bumpkins?
We’re SO pumped to have the Smashing Bumpkins joining us again! After their visit to The Family last year, we’ve been counting down the days until they could come back. We have finally locked in some dates and this time we want the whole community to experience the joy that this special band brings.
Based in Brisbane, The Smashing Bumpkins are a lively bush dance band known for their infectious energy and onstage enthusiasm. With clear dance step instructions and a spirited live performance, the band performs traditional Australian bush dances and other well known dances accompanied by popular riffs from all genres of music.
They do circle, line and partnered dances, all which are easy to learn, with steps explained first, then called throughout the entire dance. You don’t have to be a good dancer to have a good time, you just need to be willing to get up and get involved!
The Smashing Bumpkins have a vast repertoire of covers, from dance floor fillers to sing-along hits, guaranteed to make the evening an event to remember. They’ve wowed audiences at festivals, parties, community events, weddings, and fundraisers across the east coast of Australia and in 2014, they even broke a Guinness World Record for mass dance participation!
